Dear Fans,

Well, it’s official. Disney has purchased the Star Wars Franchise for $4 Billion. Work has already begun on Episode 7 of Star Wars. Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Princess Leia Organa, Chewbacca, C-3PO and R2-D2 are all returning for more adventures. The Galactic Empire has of course been dealt a devestating blow with the death of both the great Emporer Palpatine, and the Sith Lord Darth Vader.

How will the Empire respond? Will the Senate be re-instated? Will other Sith Lords rise from the ashes of the great Vader and Palpatine? Will Luke Skywalker be able to revive the Jedi Order? Will decent dialogue and good plot pacing return to the Star Wars franchise? Can a franchise be redeemed rising from the ashes of the malignant prequel? Will Jar Jar Binks and the Ewoks annihilate each other in an intergalactic war? (One can only have a new hope…)

So, now that Disney owns Marvel and Star Wars, one can only imagine the thrilling mash-ups that can be brought about. Imagine it, the X-Men, battling the Skrulls are zapped into a galaxy far far away where they must match wits with the crew of the Millenium Falcon. Imagine Luke Skywalker, returning to Dagobah to establish the Force University, rubs a lantern only to be granted three wishes by a blue Genie who sounds vaguely like Robin Williams!

Here are my top 5 Disney – Marvel – Star Wars Mashups:

5 – Yoda and Fantasia Mickey versus Galactus. ‘Nuff said, true believers.

4 – Namor, the Submariner, and Ariel, the Little Mermaid, must defend Atlantis from the Pirates of the Carribean

3 – Wolverine and Sabertooth must join forces against General Chewbacca and the army of the Wookies, special cameo appearance by Goofy

2 – Iron Man and Darth Vader arm wrestling tournament. Ohmigod!

1 – Mickey Mouse and Spiderman go on a double date with Minnie and Mary Jane Watson, a comedic Love Story.

Whatever they decide to do, I cannot wait to see what the imagineers at Disney have in store! What’s next? Could a Star Wars / Star Trek merger be too far behind?

See you in a week or two for the next webcomic!

Enjoy,
John Cross
